The Christmas Invasion By @cheezypeas

"The pilot fish... the pilot fish mean... something... something... something's coming.."

The Christmas Invasion. The first of many Christmas specials which helps fill in the gap between series. This isn't the first episode to be shown at Christmas; the first ever was in 1966, The story was The Dalek Masterplan, the episode The Feast of Stephen. However, this was the first story specifically written as a Christmas special.

Oh yeah, and the Doctor has just regenerated.....

The hype surrounding David Tennant's arrival was already at fever pitch, you could almost hear the collective fangirl (and fanboy) sighs when the Doctor regenerated at the end of Parting of the Ways.

Jackie and Mickey are puzzled to see a complete stranger stagger and collapse out of the TARDIS, very reminiscent of Jon Pertwee's d├ębut Spearhead from Space. Rose tends to the recovering Doctor, fearing he's dying.

Meanwhile, there's a rather deadly brass band on the loose.....

....and trouble is on its way....

This episode is a great way to introduce the Doctor's new personality, although he spends the majority of the story unconscious. It also mentions Torchwood in greater detail, story arcs begin to develop and we meet Harriet Jones yet again (yes, we know who you are! ;-p). Its a very tongue in cheek story, with a lot of light hearted lines and some rather corny ones as well....

So, join us this Sunday for pilot fish, Grumpy Sycorax, deadly Christmas trees, apples and a healing cup of tea, and those of you who's blood type is A positive, stay away from the roof!
